THE CANINE CONNECTION has professional standards and procedures in place to promote safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all people and animals while using our services.
We are committed to providing professional, safe and compassionate services for dogs and their owners. Whilst we take every reasonable care to protect the safety and wellbeing of every dog in our care, dogs are animals and their behaviour can be unpredictable.
Whilst we always take utmost care and act in the best interests of your dog, by booking or using THE CANINE CONNECTION services/and or our website, the client agrees to the following terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between THE CANINE CONNECTION and the client in relation to the services provided and supersede any prior representations, understandings or arrangements, whether verbal or written.
In these Terms & Conditions, “we”, “our” or “us” means THE CANINE CONNECTION, and “you”, “your” or “Client” means the person booking or receiving our goods or services.
THE CANINE CONNECTION may provide a range of services including, but not limited to:
Specific services, inclusions, pricing and requirements may vary and will be communicated to the Client at the time of booking.
The Client acknowledges that dogs are animals and may behave unpredictably, even when previously considered friendly, calm or well-trained.
Potential risks associated with our services may include:
The Client must provide THE CANINE CONNECTION with complete and accurate information about their dog’s health, behaviour, temperament, history and any known risks.
This includes disclosing any known:
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in the service being modified, suspended or cancelled.
THE CANINE CONNECTION will provide training and behaviour services using methods and techniques considered appropriate for the individual dog and circumstances.
However, we cannot guarantee a particular behavioural or training outcome.
Training results can be influenced by many factors, including:
The Client understands that ongoing practice and consistency outside of training sessions are important to achieving and maintaining training outcomes.
Where we believe a dog’s behaviour requires specialist assessment or treatment, we may recommend that the Client seek advice from a qualified veterinarian or other appropriate professional.
The Client understands that dog walking and exercise involve inherent risks, including interactions with other dogs, animals, people, vehicles, environmental hazards and unfamiliar surroundings.
THE CANINE CONNECTION will take reasonable care when providing walking and exercise services.
The Client must provide accurate information regarding their dog’s:
Off-lead activities
Off-lead activities will only occur where specifically agreed and where THE CANINE CONNECTION considers the activity appropriate and reasonably safe.
THE CANINE CONNECTION may choose to keep a dog on lead or use alternative equipment, such as a long line or harness, if we believe this is necessary for the dog’s safety or the safety of others.
Where permitted by law, the Client acknowledges that off-lead activities carry additional risks, including escape, injury and interaction with other animals.
The Client confirms that their dog is reasonably fit and healthy to participate in the services booked.
The Client must notify THE CANINE CONNECTION as soon as possible if their dog:
THE CANINE CONNECTION reserves the right to postpone, modify or refuse a service if we reasonably believe that continuing may compromise the health or wellbeing of the dog, another animal, a Client or a member of staff.
Where veterinary clearance is requested, the Client will be responsible for obtaining and providing that clearance.
The Client is responsible for ensuring their dog receives appropriate vaccinations, parasite prevention and veterinary care appropriate to their circumstances.
For group activities or services involving contact with other dogs, THE CANINE CONNECTION may require evidence of current vaccinations where appropriate.
The Client must advise us if their dog has been diagnosed with, or exposed to, a contagious or infectious condition.
Whilst THE CANINE CONNECTION maintains appropriate cleaning and hygiene practices, no environment involving animals can be completely free from the risk of illness or disease transmission.
THE CANINE CONNECTION cannot guarantee that a dog will not be exposed to an infectious disease or parasite.
The Client must advise THE CANINE CONNECTION if their dog is a puppy, senior dog or has special physical, medical, behavioural or emotional needs.
This may include:
Activities may be modified or discontinued if we believe this is necessary for the dog’s safety or wellbeing.
The Client acknowledges that physical activity, training, walking and socialisation may place physical and emotional demands on a dog.
If a dog becomes injured, unwell or requires urgent veterinary attention while in our care, THE CANINE CONNECTION will make reasonable attempts to contact the Client or nominated emergency contact.
If the Client or emergency contact cannot be reached and veterinary attention is reasonably considered necessary, the Client authorises THE CANINE CONNECTION to seek veterinary assistance for the dog.
All veterinary, medical, transport and associated costs will be the responsibility of the Client, except where otherwise required by law.
The Client must ensure that emergency contact and veterinary information provided to THE CANINE CONNECTION remains current.
The Client must provide clear written instructions for any medication, feeding requirements or special care required by their dog.
Medication will only be administered where this has been agreed in advance and appropriate instructions have been provided.
Medication must be supplied in its original packaging, clearly labelled and with sufficient instructions.
The Client remains responsible for ensuring that adequate medication, food and other necessary supplies are provided.
Where services are provided at the Client’s property, the Client is responsible for providing safe and suitable access.
The Client must advise THE CANINE CONNECTION of any known hazards or risks at the property, including:
THE CANINE CONNECTION may refuse or discontinue a service if we reasonably believe the environment is unsafe.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that keys, access codes and other access information supplied to THE CANINE CONNECTION are accurate and current.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that their dog has appropriate identification, registration and microchipping where required by applicable law.
The Client must provide accurate information regarding the dog’s identity, age, breed, registration and microchip details where requested.
THE CANINE CONNECTION reserves the right to charge additional fees where a service requires substantially more time, care, resources or specialised handling than originally booked.
Additional charges may apply due to circumstances including:
Where reasonably practicable, we will discuss additional charges with the Client before they are incurred.
THE CANINE CONNECTION reserves the right to change its prices and fees from time to time.
A minimum call-out fee of $150 applies to applicable services.
We understand that plans can change. However, appointments are reserved specifically for each Client and cancellations can prevent us from offering that time to another customer.
Cancellations
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the booked service.
No-shows
If a Client fails to attend or is unavailable for a scheduled appointment without providing notice, THE CANINE CONNECTION reserves the right to charge up to the full cost of the booked service.
Cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.
By using our services, the Client agrees to:
The Client remains responsible for the accuracy of all information provided to THE CANINE CONNECTION.
The Client acknowledges that they remain the owner and person responsible for their dog at all times.
To the extent permitted by law, the Client remains responsible for any loss, damage, injury or expense caused by their dog.
This includes circumstances where the Client has failed to disclose known behavioural or medical issues or has provided inaccurate or incomplete information.
The Client acknowledges that dog walking, training, socialisation, pet sitting and other animal-related services carry inherent risks.
THE CANINE CONNECTION will take reasonable care in providing its services.
To the extent permitted by law, the Client acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks associated with participating in or receiving animal-related services.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights, guarantees, conditions or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
HE CANINE CONNECTION may photograph or record their dog while providing services.
Images or videos may be used for:
The Client may withdraw consent for future use by contacting THE CANINE CONNECTION in writing.
All original content created or owned by THE CANINE CONNECTION remains the property of THE CANINE CONNECTION or its respective licensors.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Content must not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission.
By using the THE CANINE CONNECTION website, you agree not to:
The website is intended for personal and legitimate business-related use.
Our services are provided with reasonable care and skill.
However, THE CANINE CONNECTION does not guarantee a specific training, behavioural, walking or pet-care outcome.
Animal behaviour can be affected by circumstances outside our control, including the dog’s health, temperament, history, environment and the actions of other people or animals.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.
THE CANINE CONNECTION reserves the right to update, modify or replace these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

It is the Client’s responsibility to review the Terms & Conditions periodically.
Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
